Bir zamanlar pilotları havada ortak tatbikat yapıyordu, İsrail Anadolu Kartalı tatbikatlarının ABD ile önemli katılımcılarındandı; şimdi bırakın ortak tatbikatı karşılaşmamak için bile yoğun çaba harcıyorlar.Türkiye ve İsrail, 21. yüzyıla imzaladıkları askeri ve ekonomik anlaşmalarla Orta Doğu'da iki yakın müttefik olarak girmişti.
Ancak bu yakın ilişki, 2000'li yıllardan itibaren yaşanan siyasi krizler ve bölgesel gelişmeler nedeniyle büyük bir değişime uğradı.

İsrail'de 27 Ekim'de yapılacak genel seçimler öncesi Netanyahu, Türkiye'yi İran'dan sonra İsrail için "yeni ana stratejik tehdit" olarak lanse ediyor.
