Monica’s TEDx program will trace her personal and professional journey from childhood ambitions to executive leadership in conservation. Monica’s career path has been anything but predictable, starting with early dreams of becoming a TV anchor and evolving in ways she never could have imagined. She will share not only the tough lessons learned along the way but the joy of taking a “yes, and” approach to career development and personal growth that has led to one of her greatest experiences yet – leading one of the largest, most impactful environmental organizations in Georgia. Monica is a seventh generation Georgian who has dedicated her career to uplifting the people and places. As Executive Director for The Nature Conservancy, Georgia, Monica leads ambitious land and water protection initiatives by building partnerships. Her impact on this state includes securing over $100 million for public health and environmental causes and fostering sustainable partnerships that drive meaningful, measurable change. Her non-profit work also includes leadership roles at the CDC Foundation, Georgia Conservancy, Women in Technology, and Georgia Municipal Association and Georgia Public Broadcasting.Monica received a bachelor’s degree in communications and marketing from Georgia State University. She is also a graduate of the Institute for Georgia Environmental Leadership (IGEL) and is currently attending TNC’s Leadership Development Program at Cambridge.
