Die Polizei greift schnell ein, stellt den Verdächtigen und nimmt ihn fest. Nach Angaben der Sicherheitsbehörden führt er zusätzliche Munition bei sich und trägt eine Schutzweste. Verletzt wird niemand. Über das Motiv des Mannes machen die Behörden bislang keine Angaben. Der Vorfall sorgt erneut für erhöhte Wachsamkeit rund um das Parlamentsgebäude der Vereinigten Staaten.
