Russlandfreundliche Resolution zum Krieg in der Ukraine im UN-Sicherheitsrat verabschiedet
Der UN-Sicherheitsrat hat eine russlandfreundliche Resolution zum Krieg gegen die Ukraine verabschiedet. Der von den USA eingebrachte Entwurf fordert zwar ein rasches Ende des Krieges, benennt aber nicht Russland als Aggressor. Zudem enthält die Resolution keine Aufforderung für einen russischen Rückzug. Zehn der 15 Ratsmitglieder stimmten für die Vorlage, darunter neben den USA und Russland auch China. Die Veto-Mächte Großbritannien und Frankreich enthielten sich bei der Abstimmung. Der Ukraine-Krieg war auch Thema beim Treffen von US-Präsident Trump mit Frankreichs Staatschef Macron im Weißen Haus. Im Anschluss an das Gespräch sagte Macron, er halte eine Feuerpause in der Ukraine innerhalb weniger Wochen für möglich. Im US-Sender Fox-News lobte Macron Trumps Initiative für ein Ende des Krieges.
