In Halberstadt wurde der Zug fünf Jahre lang technisch instand gesetzt und nun in Thale an seinen Auftraggeber übergeben. Die Sanierung kostete rund sieben Millionen Euro.
Künftig soll der Zug von Radebeul aus zu touristischen Sonderfahrten durch Mitteldeutschland, Brandenburg und bis nach Prag starten. Wir waren bei der ersten feierlichen Einfahrt der DDR-Legende hautnah dabei.
