Studiare Farmacia o Chimica e Tecnologia Farmaceutica, ovvero CTF, significa entrare nel mondo del farmaco, capire come esso nasce, come agisce nel nostro organismo e quali effetti benefici o anche indesiderati può avere.
I due percorsi di Farmacia e CTF hanno orientamenti e vocazioni diverse. Farmacia ha una vocazione più sanitaria legata storicamente al ruolo di farmacista, mentre CTF è più orientata all'industria farmaceutica. Non sono però percorsi rigidi. Un laureato in Farmacia può lavorare anche nell'industria, così come un laureato in CTF può lavorare in farmacia. È importante ricordare che il ruolo del farmacista è cambiato. La farmacia non è più solo dispensazione del farmaco, ma è un presidio sanitario di prossimità e farmacia di servizi. Un esempio è stato il periodo del Covid in cui le farmacie hanno svolto un ruolo fondamentale con tamponi e vaccinazioni.
