Salah seorang komando militer Kamboja dilaporkan ikut terbunuh dalam insiden yang mulai berkecamuk sejak Kamis (24/7/2025) tersebut.
Pertempuran kembali meletus pada Sabtu (26/7) dini hari di sekitar Phu Ma Kua dan Chong Ta Thao.
Pasukan Thailand berhasil mempertahankan posisi mereka di Phu Ma Kua dan mendesak pasukan Kamboja keluar dari wilayah tersebut.
Pasukan Kamboja mencoba melakukan serangan balik untuk merebut kembali wilayah tersebut.
Namun, upaya mereka mengakibatkan banyak korban jiwa di pihak Kamboja.
Di antara mereka yang tewas adalah Mayor Jenderal Duong Somneang.
Ia merupakan komandan Divisi ke-7 Kamboja
Mayor Duong terbunuh akibat terkena rentetan tembakan artileri selama serangan di front Chong Ta Thao–Phu Ma Kua.
Ini menjadi pertempuran paling berdarah antara Thailand dan Kamboja.
33 orang dilaporkan terbunuh di dua negara dalam konflik ini
Kementerian Pertahanan Kamboja melaporkan bahwa 13 orang tewas dalam pertempuran, termasuk delapan warga sipil dan lima tentara.
Sementara 71 orang lainnya dilaporkan terluka.
Di Thailand, total korban tewas ada 20 orang, termasuk 14 warga sipil dan enam militer.
Kejadian tersebut mendorong Dewan Keamanan PBB untuk mengadakan pertemuan darurat pada Jumat lalu.
