You Want a Better Future? Earn It | David Setiabudi | TEDxGUIS Guangzhou Youth
In this motivational talk, David Setiabudi shares his personal journey from being at the bottom of his class to taking control of his future through self-discipline, perseverance, and personal responsibility. Drawing on his experiences in education, game development, and working abroad, he demonstrates how everyday choices, consistent effort, and a willingness to learn can transform one's direction in life. David challenges us to accept our starting points without allowing them to define our potential, turn weaknesses into opportunities, and prioritise long-term goals over short-term gratification. Through the analogy of life as a game, he reminds us that every decision shapes our future and that meaningful success requires determination and hard work. His message is captured in the Chinese saying, "学好三年，学坏三天" (It takes years to build good habits, but only days to fall into bad ones): choose wisely, work consistently, and take responsibility for the future you want. Teacher of Computer Science at Guangzhou Ulink International School - ULC Division. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
