Suspect dead after barricade incident inside New York hospital
We are learning more after there was a police-involved shooting inside a hospital in Brooklyn. According to a law enforcement source, shots were reportedly fired inside New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital on 6th Street. We are getting an update from law enforcement officials in New York City this evening as they announced the death of the suspect involved.Law enforcement officials said the incident began with an armed suspect who had cut himself and threatened to kill staff, while also attempting to injure others inside the hospital. Responding officers found a room covered in blood and encountered the suspect, who refused to drop their weapon despite repeated requests, according to police.
NYPD earlier tonight said multiple 911 calls were made at 5:27 p.m. regarding a violent man armed with a knife inside New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.
