The Houthis just took a shot at Riyadh. Ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones launched at the Saudi capital and Aramco's Yanbu terminal — the port Saudi Arabia has been routing its oil through since Iran shut down the Strait of Hormuz. A fuel tank burned near King Khalid International Airport. Saudi air defense killed the ballistic missile headed for the city.Same window, the IRGC Navy put a projectile into a Togo-flagged tanker in Hormuz and set it on fire. That's 80 confirmed attacks on merchant ships since February and 22 sailors dead. Only four commodity vessels transited the strait on the 18th against a normal average of sixteen. Tehran is squeezing the world's oil artery and using its Yemeni proxy to hit America's biggest Gulf partner at the same time.
Here's what Iran didn't count on. President Trump signed the Lindsey Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act on the 18th — Iran sanctions locked through 2031, 100 percent tariffs on the table for anyone buying Russian crude. The U.S. Navy blockade has Iran exporting zero barrels while CENTCOM has moved a billion barrels of allied oil through Hormuz. And Tehran is now passing ceasefire terms through Qatar and waiting on Washington's answer. That's not a regime negotiating from strength.
