Caritas-Chefin zur Zivildienst-Debatte: Sie lehnt Vorhaben der Bundesregierung ab | VertraulichDie Debatte um den Wehrdienst nimmt Fahrt auf. Caritas-Präsidentin Eva Maria Welskop-Deffaa warnt davor, einen neuen Zivildienst vorschnell an die Bedarfswehrpflicht zu koppeln. Entscheidend sei der Unterschied zwischen einer allgemeinen Wehrpflicht und dem derzeit gesetzlich vorgesehenen Modell: Eine Bedarfswehrpflicht soll sich am tatsächlichen Personalbedarf der Bundeswehr orientieren. Die Caritas befürchtet falsche Erwartungen und fordert stattdessen attraktivere Freiwilligendienste.
