Microsoft Copilot Cowork can now turn your existing data into real business apps using the new App Builder skill.

In this video, I start with a simple Excel spreadsheet and build a complete Team Budget & Spend Management app from scratch using Copilot Cowork.

But I don’t stop at Excel.

Excel is a great starting point, but it is not the ideal long-term backend for a multi-user business application. As usage grows, you have to think about scalability, permissions, governance, automation, and how the data is managed over time.

So in this demo, I also show how Cowork can help move the solution beyond Excel by:
Creating a SharePoint list
Moving the Excel data into SharePoint
Connecting the app to the new SharePoint data source
Continuing to evolve the app using natural language
Building richer screens and experiences without starting over

Along the way, I build a complete Spend Management experience with:
Dashboard and KPIs
Spend tracking
Upcoming renewals
Search and filtering
Multiple app views
Natural-language app updates

The big idea is simple:
With Microsoft Copilot Cowork, you can start with a spreadsheet, describe the business outcome you want, turn it into an app, move the data into a more appropriate backend like SharePoint or Dataverse or SQL, and keep evolving the solution conversationally.
