Bos jalan tol, Jusuf Hamka alias Babah Alun mulai berbicara mengenai kebutuhan warga Jakarta setelah muncul wacana berduet dengan Ketua Umum Partai Solidaritas Indonesia (PSI) Kaesang Pangarep di Pilkada Jakarta 2024.Menurutnya, rakyat Jakarta memerlukan transportasi, sekolah, hingga akses kesehatan gratis.
"Saya bilang sederhana kok Pak. Rakyat Jakarta ini perlu transportasi gratis, sekolah gratis, kesehatan gratis, karena buat mereka sekolah ini mahal sekarang. Jadi semua disubsidi aja. Karena APBD ada Rp96 triliun, gitu aja kok repot. Dananya banyak," kata Jusuf Hamka.
Jusuf Hamka menekankan untuk mewujudkan kesejahteraan masyarakat ketimbang berbicara logistik untuk memuluskan langkah politiknya. Ia berbicara untuk memenuhi perihal makan bagi masyarakat dengan harga terjangkau.
"Nah kalau rakyat membutuhkan logistik saya, saya nggak pernah menjanjikan logistik buat rakyat. Saya menjanjikan kesejahteraan kalian pasti akan lebih baik," ujarnya.
"Sekolah gratis, ya kan? InsyaAllah makan pun saya sudah melakukan, warung nasi kuning Babah Alun ini udah dari tahun 2018 dari Februari. Ditanya konsepnya apa? Seluruh kelurahan saya bikin warung nasi kuning Babah Alun. Dan itu nasi kuning bukan saya kasih gratis, saya kasih dengan harga Rp3.000. Daripada saudara-saudara kita makan Rp10.000 setiap hari," tambahnya.
