Kennedy Jr è stato nominato da Donald Trump come nuovo segretario della Salute, la scienza ufficiale che abbiamo conosciuto durante la pandemia da Covid ha cambiato totalmente volto. Per ora solo negli Stati Uniti. Kennedy ha iniziato tagliando i finanziamenti alle ricerche sul "gain of function" (guadagno di funzione); ha rimosso il siero anti Covid dal calendario ufficiale delle vaccinazioni raccomandate per bambini sani e donne in gravidanza; ha fermato i finanziamenti a GAVI; ha annunciato il blocco dei finanziamenti federali — circa 500 milioni di dollari — destinati allo sviluppo dei vaccini a tecnologia mRNA. Un'opera che ha infastidito le aziende di Big Pharma e che si può riassumere nel movimento MAHA, Make America Healthy Again.
Da questo movimento è nata l'idea in Europa del movimento MEHA, Make Europe Healthy Again, presentato poche settimane fa a Bruxelles. Ma siamo ancora lontani dai principi che Kennedy sta seguendo negli States, per esempio contro il conflitto d'interesse nella medicina. A giugno il segretario alla Salute degli USA ha rivoluzionato il CDC licenziando tutto il vecchio staff, affermando che il comitato era "afflitto da persistenti conflitti di interesse". Solo pochi giorni fa in Italia, al contrario, si è dichiarato, in un'audizione ormai nota, che avere rapporti economici con più aziende farmaceutiche, renderebbe un medico in realtà più indipendente di altri.
