La Corte d'assise di Parma ha inflitto a Chiara Petrolini una pena complessiva di 24 anni e 3 mesi di carcere, oltre al pagamento delle spese processuali, al termine di una camera di consiglio durata più di tre ore. La 22enne di Traversetolo era sotto processo con l'accusa di aver causato la morte dei suoi due figli neonati, i cui corpi erano stati poi nascosti nel giardino della sua abitazione. I giudici l'hanno invece dichiarata non colpevole in relazione alla morte del primo figlio.
