VIKTOR ORBAN: Ungarn übernimmt EU-Ratspräsidentschaft | Neuausrichtung Migrations- & FriedenspolitikDie nächsten sechs Monate hat Ungarn die EU-Ratspräsidentschaft inne. Die Budapester Regierung hat sich vorgenommen, mit der Präsidentschaft die wirtschaftliche Wettbewerbsfähigkeit der EU voranzutreiben. Um das Wachstum zu fördern, wolle man ein neues Abkommen dazu verabschieden, teilte die Regierung zur Übernahme des EU-Ratsvorsitzes an diesem Montag mit. Außerdem soll illegale Migration besser bekämpft werden - unter anderem durch Deals mit Drittstaaten.
Der Ratsvorsitz der EU wechselt alle sechs Monate zwischen den 27 Mitgliedstaaten. Regierungsvertreter aus Ungarn werden damit bis Ende Dezember die Leitung zahlreicher Ministertreffen übernehmen und bei Meinungsverschiedenheiten zwischen den EU-Staaten vermitteln.
