West Asia Crisis LIVE: UNIFIL Says Cessation of Hostilities Between Lebanon and Israel Holding |N18GThe United Nations says the cessation of hostilities between Lebanon and Israel continues to hold, but stressed that Israeli forces have yet to make a full withdrawal from Lebanese territory. Under-Secretary-General John-Pierre Lacroix, told the Security Council Friday that he and Secretary-General Antonio Guterres visited the headquarters of UNIFIL, the U.N. peacekeeping force on Friday near the border with Israel. "From what I observed and based on what our interlocutors shared, the Lebanese authorities are committed to upholding their commitments under the cessation of hostilities and Resolution 1701," La Croix said. Despite the positive announcement on the fighting, Lacroix urged Israeli Defense Forces to complete their withdraw from Lebanese territory.
