The Vectorscope Trick for PERFECT Skin Tones in Photoshop

Photoshop's new Vectorscope has a hidden Skin Tone Line that tells you exactly when skin looks natural.

The Vectorscope is a new color-analysis display in the Camera Raw Filter. It maps every color in your image onto a circle, where the angle around the center is the Hue and the distance from the center is the Saturation. One glance tells you what colors your image is made of.

The real payoff is the skin tone line. It is a reference for where natural skin should fall, no matter the subject's ethnicity, because skin tones vary in saturation and brightness but not in hue.

In this tutorial, you'll mask the skin, read where it lands on the Vectorscope, and push it onto that line using Point Color to achieve natural skin tones in Photoshop.

This is for anyone whose skin tones come out too yellow, too red, or oversaturated and can't tell why.

In this video, you'll learn:
- How to turn on the Vectorscope in Camera Raw
- How to read Hue and Saturation on the Vectorscope
- How to show the skin tone line indicator
- How to mask and target skin tones using People masking
- How to fix skin tones with Point Color
- How to adjust Hue, Saturation, Luminance, and Variance for natural skin
- How to unify skin tones across a portrait
