First Starship Static Fire on Pad 2? Booster 19 Testing Explained | Starship Update

Booster 19 testing at Starbase’s brand new Pad 2 has begun — and things escalated quickly.

This week, SpaceX loaded Super Heavy Booster 19 with cryogenic propellant multiple times, tested the Pad 2 ground systems, activated the detonation suppression system and water deluge, and may have conducted a spin-prime or partial static fire test of its Raptor engines.

But after the testing campaign began, the booster was suddenly removed from the launch mount, prompting speculation about whether SpaceX aborted the test or discovered an issue during tanking.

Now Booster 19 is back on the Orbital Launch Mount, and the path toward the first Block 3 Super Heavy static fire is getting closer.

Meanwhile:
• Booster 20 stacking accelerates in Mega Bay
• The Starbase GigaBay continues rising
• A new Ship thrust simulator is under construction
• Raptor 3 testing continues at McGregor
• Construction advances at SLC-37 and LC-39A in Florida

From Starbase, Texas to the Space Coast, here’s everything happening in the Starship program this week.
