JAKARTA, KOMPASTV - Pemimpin Korea Utara Kim Jong Un menyambut Menteri Luar Negeri Rusia Sergey Lavrov.
Pertemuan digelar di kota Wonsan, yang merupakan tempat Korea Utara baru-baru ini membuka resor pantai.
"Saya rasa para menteri luar negeri kedua negara perlu sering mengadakan pertemuan semacam ini untuk membahas kerja sama kedua negara, serta bertukar pandangan tentang isu-isu internasional yang menjadi kepentingan bersama," kata Kim Jong Un kepada Lavrov, Sabtu (12/7/2025).
Menlu Rusia pun turut menyampaikan salam dari Presiden Rusia Vladimir Putin untuk Kim.
"Presiden menyampaikan salam hangatnya, menegaskan kembali komitmennya terhadap semua kesepakatan yang dicapai, dan sangat berharap agar kontak langsung dengan Anda dapat dilanjutkan dalam waktu dekat," kata Lavrov.
Sebelumnya pada hari Sabtu, Lavrov mengadakan pembicaraan dengan mitranya dari Korea Utara, Choe Son Hui, sebagai bagian dari putaran kedua dialog strategis bilateral tingkat menteri luar negeri.
Hubungan antara Rusia dan Korea Utara telah berkembang pesat dalam beberapa tahun terakhir, dengan Korea Utara memasok pasukan dan amunisi untuk mendukung Rusia di Ukraina dengan imbalan bantuan militer dan ekonomi.
