GKS Katowice edged Motor Lublin 3–2 in a thrilling opening match of Round 29 in the Ekstraklasa.The home side started strongly, dominating possession early on, and broke the deadlock in the 23rd minute when Emam Markovic finished a volley from a corner rebound. Moments later, Motor Lublin suffered a setback as goalkeeper Ivan Brkic went off injured after a heavy collision, with Gasper Tratnik coming on as his replacement.
The visitors responded quickly, equalizing in the 28th minute through Karol Czubak. However, Katowice regained control before the break, with Bartosz Nowak restoring the lead, and Emam Markovic striking again in first-half stoppage time (45+3) to make it 3–1.
In the second half, Motor Lublin pushed forward and reduced the deficit in the 49th minute thanks to Bartosz Wolski, setting up a tense finish. Despite sustained pressure, they couldn’t find the equalizer, while Katowice threatened on the counterattack to extend their lead.
