Hal itu buntut kenaikan Pajak Bumi dan Bangunan (PBB) hingga 1.000 persen.
Keresahan warga Kabupaten Pati akibat kenaikan Pajak sebesar 250 persen kini juga dirasakan warga Kota Cirebon.
Bedanya, kenaikan PBB di Cirebon justru jauh lebih tinggi, bahkan mencapai 1.000 persen.
Kondisi ini memicu gelombang protes yang semakin meluas di kalangan masyarakat.
Dikutip dari Tribun Jabar, Paguyuban Masyarakat Cirebon (PAMACI) berencana menggelar aksi demo pada Kamis (11/9) mendatang.
Sebagai langkah awal, organisasi tersebut akan membuka posko partisipasi untuk mengajak warga terlibat dalam aksi demo.
Aksi ini dilakukan untuk membela masyarakat yang kesulitan membayar PBB akibat kenaikan pajak.
Ketua Harian PAMACI Kota Cirebon, Adji Priatna mengkritik pemerintah kota yang dinilai hanya fokus mengejar pendapatan pajak.
"Untuk aksi yang kami wacanakan itu tanggal 11 September, sehingga sebelumnya mungkin kami akan buka posko di satu tempat untuk partisipasi masyarakat terhadap aksi damai ini,” ujarnya.
Menurutnya, sektor lain seperti pengelolaan lima BUMD yang kondisinya memprihatinkan juga perlu segera dibenahi.
"Pemerintah kota jangan hanya ngejar-ngejar pajak lah. Masih banyak sektor lain yang harus dibenahi, contoh lima BUMD kita, bobrok semua," katanya.
