Berdasarkan data Badan Meteorologi, Klimatologi, dan Geofisika (BMKG), pusat gempa berada 47 kilometer tenggara Sumenep dengan kedalaman 14 kilometer.
Beruntung gempa tersebut dikabarkan tidak berpotensi tsunami.
Bahkan getaran kuat dirasakan warga di Pulau Sapudi hingga membuat panik dan berhamburan keluar rumah.
Seorang warga bernama Sulatini (50) nyaris tertimpa reruntuhan bangunan saat gempa terjadi saat menunaikan salat.
Dirinya berlari keluar rumah sesaat setelah merasakan guncangan kuat yang menggoyang bangunannya.
Sementara itu, pecahan batu dan material rumah jatuh hanya beberapa meter dari tempatnya berdiri.
Rumah Sulatini sebelumnya sudah miring akibat gempa bermagnitudo 6,0 pada awal Oktober lalu.
Meski saat itu belum mengalami kerusakan berat, gempa kali ini memperparah kondisi bangunan dengan retakan besar di area pintu kamar.
Banyak warga memilih tidur di luar rumah lantaran takut akan gempa susulan.
Situasi ini membuat masyarakat setempat berharap ada bantuan dan pemeriksaan struktur bangunan dari pihak berwenang.
Meski demikian, BMKG terus memantau aktivitas seismik di sekitar Sumenep untuk mengantisipasi potensi guncangan lanjutan.
