Wakil Presiden RI ke 10 dan 12, Jusuf Kalla menilai, insiden ini sebagai peringatan keras ke Washington.
Dikatakan Jusuf Kalla pada Minggu (14/7/2024), ia mengaku terkejut atas insiden ini.
Ia menilai, peristiwa penembakan tersebut menjadi peringatan keras bagi Amerika Serikat.
"Pertama tentu kita terkejut, bahwa di Amerika sendiri rakyatnya juga menembak calon presidennya Donald Trump," kata Jusuf Kalla atau JK di kediamannya di Jakarta.
Pasalnya, kekerasan terus terjadi terlebih penembakan dilakukan kepada calon presiden.
JK enggan berspekulasi terkait insiden ini.
Namun, JK meyakini, misi pelaku adalah orang yang anti Trump dan misinya ingin membunuh pria yang juga sempat memimpin AS tersebut.
"Belum tahu juga. Ini masih tanda tanya. misinya apa dan keinginannya apa. Tapi tentu keinginannya membunuh Trump dan ini pasti orang yang anti Trump," tegasnya.
