Norsk Tipping adalah sebuah perusahaan lotere milik negara, yang menyatakan warganya memenangkan hadiah besar.
Peristiwa terjadi saat pengundian Eurojackpot pada Jumat (28/6).
Nilai semula kemenangan yang dikira miliaran rupiah, ternyata hanya ratusan ribu rupiah.
Ole Fredrik Sveen, salah satu pemenang hadiah sebesar 1,2 juta kroner atau sekitar Rp 2 miliar, mengetahui hadiah yang sebenarnya hanya sebesar 125 kroner, atau sekitar Rp 200.000.
Norsk Tipping salah mengonversi nilai hadiah dari sen euro ke mata uang kroner Norwegia.
Namun dihari yang sama, Norsk Tipping mengirim pesan permintaan maaf pada penerima notifikasi yang salah.
Kejadian tersebut menuai banyak kritik, tidak hanya pemain lotere namun juga dari otoritas Norwegia.
Lubna Jaffery, Menteri Kebudayaan Norwegia mengatakan kesalahan ini hal yang tak dapat diterima.
Vegar Strand, selaku Kepala Eksekutif sementara Norsk Tipping menegaskan mendapatkan kembali kepercayaan publik kini menjadi prioritas utama perusahaan.
