In Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa, a music graduate named Feven Melese is on a heartfelt mission to protect the city's vast population of abandoned and stray dogs. She runs a small, makeshift shelter for 40 dogs and, along with friends, feeds an estimated 700 dogs on the streets each week, having rehomed over 300 in the last two years. Melese's passion stems from witnessing cruelty towards animals in her childhood, as she strives to be a "voice for the voiceless". Her team challenges the common Ethiopian perception that dogs are useful only as guardians, which often leads to abandonment when they become inconvenient, especially female dogs or when owners move.---
