(di Fabrizio Geremicca) Non è infrequente che tra Capri e Punta Campanella siano avvistate balenottere comuni o capodogli. Sono infatti cetacei che, come ricorda il personale dell’area marina protetta di Punta Campanella, “attraversano spesso quel tratto di mare”. La zona, infatti, insieme al canyon sottomarino di Cuma, che si estende tra le isole flegree e Ventotene, è stata inserita da qualche anno tra le Important Marine Mammals Areas (aree di importanza per i mammiferi marini) dello IUCN, che è l’Unione Internazionale per la Conservazione della Natura. Pur se non rari, tuttavia, gli avvistamenti dei grandi mammiferi marini suscitano sempre emozione e sono eventi spettacolari. L’ultimo, testimoniato dal video del Diving Barracuda, non fa eccezione. Riprende una balenottera comune mentre nuota sullo sfondo di Capri e Punta Campanella. L’area marina protetta invita tutti i diportisti a rispettare i limiti di velocità ed il regolamento della riserva marina ed a prestare la massima attenzione “per garantire la tutela della biodiversità e dell’ambiente e la sicurezza in mare”. Un appello particolarmente opportuno alla vigilia dell’estate, quando il mare della penisola sorrentina e della costiera amalfitana è percorso quotidianamente da migliaia di imbarcazioni. Gommoni di proprietà od a noleggio, motoscafi grandi e piccoli, charters per i turisti affollano il mare e non tutti i diportisti sono consapevoli della necessità di mantenere la giusta distanza dalla costa, la velocità opportuna e comportamenti rispettosi dell’ecosistema marino.
