UK police restrict pro-Palestinian protest in London amid Iran war tensions
British police have imposed restrictions on pro-Palestinian and pro-Iranian demonstrations, preventing the annual Al-Quds Day march from proceeding through central London. Organisers were confined to a fixed location on the South Bank of the River Thames, with police citing public order concerns and the risk of clashes with counter-protesters. For nearly 40 years the event has been allowed to march through the streets, but heightened tensions over the war in Gaza and the conflict involving Iran prompted authorities to enforce a static protest. Police warned demonstrators against displaying support for proscribed groups or using language that could be interpreted as inciting violence.Al Jazeera's Rob McBride reports from London.
