Este proyecto marcó una evolución en su carrera artística, fusionando pop latino, regueton, R&B y dance pop con una producción moderna y una interpretación emocionalmente poderosa.
El álbum incluye temas icónicos como “Amar sin ser Amada”, que rápidamente se convirtió en un himno entre el público femenino y alcanzó los primeros puestos en las listas de América Latina y Europa. Le siguieron los sencillos “Un alma Sentenciada”, “Seducción”, “No No No” y “Olvídame”, todos con presencia en rankings radiales.
El Sexto Sentido debutó en el #3 del Billboard Top Latin Albums, en el #2 del Latin Pop Albums y en el #63 del Billboard 200 en EE.UU., con más de 50,000 copias vendidas en su primera semana. En México, recibió disco de oro a tan solo dos semanas de su lanzamiento por superar las 50,000 unidades. También fue certificado oro en Argentina. Hasta la fecha, ha vendido más de 3 millones de copias a nivel mundial.
Su edición japonesa incluyó una versión reguetón de “Amar sin ser Amada” (en inglés) y un DVD exclusivo para fans asiáticos. Además, en 2006 se lanzó la reedición El Sexto Sentido Re+Loaded, con tres temas inéditos, entre ellos el exitoso dueto con Romeo Santos, “No, no, no”, el cual impulsó la nominación del álbum a los Latin Grammy Awardsen la categoría Mejor Álbum Pop Vocal Femenino.
El Sexto Sentido es considerado uno de los trabajos más versátiles de Thalia, con una propuesta sonora más electrónica y sofisticada, que refleja una etapa artística más madura, profunda y auténtica.
