Dự báo từ GFS và ECMWF cho thấy, cuối tuần này và đầu tuần tới, Biển Đông có khả năng xuất hiện xoáy thuận nhiệt đới. Khu vực giữa Biển Đông có thể thiết lập một dải hội tụ nhiệt đới, có thể phát triển thành vùng áp thấp, áp thấp nhiệt đới hoặc bão, ảnh hưởng đến thời tiết miền Bắc, miền Trung.
Ngoài ra, từ ngày mai (11/7), gió mùa tây nam tăng cường, gây thời tiết xấu trên biển và tăng mưa cho Nam Bộ, Tây Nguyên và Nam Trung Bộ. Việt Nam ghi nhận kỷ lục 625 ngày không có cơn bão đổ bộ đất liền. Mùa bão 2023 chỉ có áp thấp nhiệt đới đổ bộ Bắc Trung Bộ, gây mưa lớn. Mùa bão 2024 đến nay, Biển Đông có áp thấp nhiệt đới, mạnh lên thành bão MALIKSI, gió mạnh cấp 8-10, đi vào Nam Quảng Đông (Trung Quốc). Hiện tượng La Nina làm phức tạp mưa bão miền Trung, không loại trừ xuất hiện các cơn bão mạnh, dị thường.
