Hal itu diceritakan wawancara eksklusif di Gedung Tribunnews, Palmerah, Jakarta, Kamis (27/6/2024).
Sejak minggu pertama Ramadan, Ita sudah bertugas di Gaza membantu persalinan di beberapa rumah sakit.
Baginya, tidak ada rasa kekhawatiran apabila harus mati sahid di medan pertempuran.
"Kebetulan Allah kasih saya di bidang kesehatan. Di MER-C kita nyebutnya jihad profesi. Hanya itu yang bisa kita kasih. Untuk dana, untuk apa. Kami punya keterbatasan," ucapnya.
Ita menyebut selama tugasnya di Gaza, suara ledakan bom dan rentetan tembakan selalu terdengar.
Kondisi itu yang membuat Ita tidak patah arang, karena warga di Palestina juga demikian.
Mereka sehari-hari bertahan hidup dan tidak tahu kapan akan meninggal dengan cara seperti apa.
Dia melihat orang-orang di Gaza bertahan dari mereka kecil sampai mereka dewasa mempertahankan tanah mereka.
Ita mengerti dirinya sedang belajar ikhlas dari perjalanan hidup.
"Itu tuh, kita tuh nggak ada apa-apanya. Jadi kalau keikhlasan ya, ya ikhlasan saja lah di Jakarta pun kita bisa saja meninggal misalnya kecelakaan kan tidak ada yang tahu," tuturnya.
Namun demikian, keluarganya dan orang tua mendukung penuh keputusan Ita yang memilih jalur menjadi relawan kemanusian di bidang kesehatan.
