Ma che cos’è quest’euro digitale? La cosa è più semplice di quanto appaia. Partiamo dall’inizio, perché dovremmo averne bisogno? Tutti i giorni può capitarci di pagare qualcosa con la carta di credito che abbiamo in tasca. E allora a che serve? Serve così come servono i contanti. Quando noi usiamo la carta di credito qualcuno o noi stessi pagando per avere quel rettangolino di plastica o il commerciante o il medico o il servizio che stiamo usando paga una commissione ogni volta che riceve un pagamento. Noi non ce ne accorgiamo ma così è. Pagando con contanti quelle commissioni scompaiono. Si paga o si riceve e basta. E’ per quello che spesso chi vende prodotti o un servizio preferisce ricevere contanti piuttosto che soldi attraverso la carta di credito su cui devono pagare commissioni. L’euro digitale è come il contante. Così come la Banca d’Italia e la banca centrale europea stampano contanti allo stesso modo emetteranno euro digitali che noi potremo avere sul nostro borsellino elettronico che abbiamo sul telefonino. Ci sarà un limite massimo così come oggi con i pagamenti in contanti. Forse 3 mila euro. E infatti a chi fa paura l’euro digitale? A chi ci fa da intermediario tra noi e i contanti. Vale a dire banche o chi emette carte di credito. Paura non giustificata. Perché così come oggi per prendere contanti passiamo per le banche accadrà lo stesso con l’euro digitale.
