Pertempuran meletus pada 24 Juli akibat sengketa perbatasan lama yang melibatkan jet tempur, artileri, dan pasukan darat.
Melansir dari Straits Times, Sabtu (26/7) dewan Keamanan PBB menggelar pertemuan darurat pada 25 Juli yang dihadiri kedua negara.
Duta Besar Kamboja untuk PBB, Chhea Keo, menekankan pentingnya penyelesaian damai atas konflik ini.
Thailand melaporkan 15 korban tewas dan lebih dari 138.000 warga dievakuasi dari wilayah perbatasan.
Sementara itu, satu warga sipil di Kamboja tewas dan lima lainnya terluka akibat serangan artileri.
Pertempuran kembali pecah di tiga wilayah pada pagi hari 25 Juli, menurut militer Thailand.
Bangkok menyatakan pertempuran mulai mereda dan membuka kemungkinan dialog diplomatik, termasuk dengan bantuan dari Malaysia.
Malaysia saat ini menjabat sebagai ketua ASEAN, organisasi regional tempat kedua negara tergabung.
Penjabat Perdana Menteri Thailand peringatkan bahwa situasi bisa memburuk jika tidak segera ditangani.
