RUSSISCHE DROHNEN ABGESCHOSSEN: Polen beruft Sondersitzung von UNO-Sicherheitsrat einNach dem Abschuss russischer Drohnen im polnischen Luftraum hat Polen eine Dringlichkeitssitzung des Sicherheitsrats der Vereinten Nationen beantragt. Die südkoreanische UN-Mission, die im September den Vorsitz im Rat innehat, teilte mit, ein Termin für das Treffen werde derzeit abgestimmt.
Polen hatte am Mittwochmorgen gemeldet, dass mehrere russische Drohnen über mehrere Stunden hinweg in den polnischen Luftraum eingedrungen seien. Dieser «Akt der Aggression» sei mit Unterstützung von Nato-Verbündeten abgewehrt worden, hieß es aus Warschau. Nach Angaben von Nato-Sprecher Martin O'Donnell war es «das erste Mal, dass Nato-Flugzeuge potenzielle Bedrohungen im Luftraum eines Bündnispartners bekämpft haben».
Mehrere Vertreter europäischer Regierungen sprachen von einer gezielten Eskalation im russischen Angriffskrieg gegen die Ukraine.
