Serangan tersebut diluncurkan pada Kamis (17/7/2025) dan menewaskan tiga orang.
Dikutip dari Anadolu Agency, Paus mengatakan Gereja Keluarga Kudus telah menjadi perlindungan bagi lebih dari 500 orang sejak awal perang.
Selain itu, gereja ini merupakan gereja Katolik satu-satunya yang masih tersisa di Gaza.
Paus mendapat laporan bahwa pendeta paroki, Pastor Gabriel Romanelli terluka akibat diserang Israel dan kini sedang dirawat di Rumah Sakit Al-Ahli.
Ia pun mendoakan Romanelli agar lekas pulih dan berharap korban lainnya diberikan ketabahan.
Tak lupa, Paus juga menyerukan gencatan senjata segera demi mewujudkan perdamaian abadi.
Namun, data yang dirilis Kementerian Kesehatan Palestina menunjukkan, jumlah korban tewas melampaui 58.600 orang.
Hal ini menjadi bukti bahwa serangan Israel semakin masif.
Ironisnya korban tewas kebanyakan adalah perempuan dan anak-anak.
Terkait serangan yang menargetkan Gereja Keluarga Kudus, Israel telah dikecam banyak negara seperti Italia hingga Arab Saudi.
