Nepal, UAE Lead Enrolment as Foreign Students Flock to India for College | Spotlight | N18G
India is attracting more students from around the world as it pushes to become a global education destination. According to the latest All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE), more than 58,000 international students from 173 countries enrolled in Indian higher education institutions during 2023–24. Nepal accounted for the largest share of foreign students, followed by the UAE, the United States and Bangladesh. The Indian government now aims to attract 200,000 international students annually by 2030 through its 'Study in India' initiative. As part of this effort, universities are expanding infrastructure while several leading foreign universities prepare to establish campuses across India.
