Demikian diungkap kementerian pertahanan Israel pada Selasa (4/6).
Melansir Andolu, Israel telah menandatangani kesepakan untuk membeli 25 jet tempur F-35 AS.
Puluhan jet tempur F-35 itu seharga 3 miliar dolar AS.
Ini merupakan skuadrone ketia pesawat 'Adir' yang dibeli Israel dari AS.
Kementerian mengatakan pembelian jet tempur ini akan didanai oleh Pembiayaan Miliuter Luar Negeri AS.
Adapun pengiriman pesawat tentara Israel akan dimulai pada tahun 2028.
Nantinya setiap tahunnya akan dilakukan pengiriman 3 hingga 5 pesawat.
Kementerian Pertahanan Israel mengatakan, kesepakatan tersebut akan menambah jumlah F-35 di armada Israel menjadi 75 unit
Menteri Pertahanan Israel Yoav Gallant menyebut, tercapainya kesepakatan itu menjadi salah satu bukti bahwa Israel masih memiliki hubungan baik dengan Amerika Serikat.
Sebelumnya pada April lalu, Presiden AS Joe Biden menandatangani paket bantuan senilai 26,4 miliar dolar untuk Israel, termasuk bantuan militer senilai 14 miliar dolar.
Palestina memandang dukungan militer AS kepada Israel sebagai upaya memperpanjang perang Israel di Jalur Gaza.
