Se prima Unione Europea, Nato e Ucraina rigettavano qualsiasi opzione di diplomazia con Putin, ora chiedono a gran voce di partecipare alle trattative tra Russia e USA. Per portare i leader europei dell'UE - solo 8 (tra cui la Gran Bretagna) su 27 - ci è voluto infatti l'incontro in Arabia Saudita tra Marco Rubio e Sergej Lavrov. Solo che da una parte sono uscite alcune opzioni di pace, dall'altra totale confusione e nessuna volontà comune, ad esempio, di mandare soldati in Ucraina. Dal lato statunitense, Trump ci racconta che Zelensky avrebbe strappato un accordo sulle terre rare, motivo per cui poi il presidente USA ha attaccato senza filtri l'omologo ucraino definendolo "dittatore" e "comico". Per Boni Castellane, Trump vuole anche ottenere una fiducia strategica dei russi in fase di negoziazione.
Ma il presagio è un altro.
