Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, atau akrab dipanggil Gus Irfan, resmi dilantik sebagai Menteri Haji dan Umrah oleh Presiden Prabowo Subianto pada Senin sore.Usai dilantik, Gus Irfan mengaku sempat diajak berdiskusi dengan Presiden dan Wakil Menteri, Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak. Presiden berpesan agar kementerian yang baru dibentuk ini mampu memperbaiki layanan haji dan umrah tahun mendatang.
Segera setelah dilantik, Irfan juga menyebut ia akan bertolak ke Jeddah dan Mekkah, Arab Saudi, untuk mengecek perkembangan Kampung Haji Indonesia.
