Merz in Hannover: „Starkes Industrieland erhalten“ – Ifo-Chef mahnt: „Ohne Reformen nur Strohfeuer“
Bei seinem Antrittsbesuch in Niedersachsen sagte Bundeskanzler Friedrich Merz (CDU), we wolle die Zusammenarbeit von Bund und Ländern verbessern. „Also lassen Sie uns das gemeinsam erhalten, was wir haben, nämlich ein starkes Industrieland, aber ein Land mit vielen tollen ländliche Regionen, in denen es sich einfach auch sehr gut leben lässt. “Vor einem Treffen am Montag im Kanzleramt haben 61 Firmen die Gründung einer Initiative "Made for Germany" bekanntgegeben. Die Mitglieder würden gemeinsam bis 2028 rund 631 Milliarden Euro am Standort Deutschland investieren. Dabei war zunächst nicht klar, wie viel davon neue Zusagen sind. Diese Summe umfasse sowohl bereits geplante als auch neue Kapitalinvestitionen, Ausgaben für Forschung und Entwicklung sowie Zusagen internationaler Investoren, heißt es in der Mitteilung.
Ifo-Präsident Clemens Fuest sieht angekündigte Investitionen deutscher Firmen als Schritt in die richtige Richtung - warnt aber vor zu viel Euphorie und einem Strohfeuer, falls angemahnte, umfassende Reformen nicht bald umgesetzt würden.
