Le due sorelle scomparse dall'Aquila e ritrovate dopo 15 giorni a Formia erano ospitate nell'appartamento di una donna di circa 80 anni, ora indagata per sequestro di persona. A ricostruire la vicenda è stato Ignoto X, il programma crime condotto da Pino Rinaldi, che ha raccolto la testimonianza della donna al centro del caso.Secondo quanto emerso dalle indagini, le bambine sarebbero state affidate all'anziana dal compagno della madre e dal nonno materno. La donna ha raccontato di averle tenute in casa per oltre due settimane, convinta che sarebbero tornati a riprenderle nel giro di pochi giorni. Nel frattempo, mentre le ricerche mobilitavano forze dell'ordine e volontari in diverse regioni, le due minori trascorrevano gran parte del tempo chiuse nella loro stanza.Intervistata dopo il ritrovamento, la donna ha spiegato di aver seguito in televisione gli appelli e le notizie sulle ricerche senza però avvertire le autorità.
