JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV - Kejaksaan Agung menandatangani nota kesepakatan dengan empat operator penyedia layanan telekomunikasi terkait penyadapan dalam rangka penegakan hukum.Ketua Komisi Kejaksaan, Pujiyono Suwadi mengatakan Ini hanya untuk penyidikan dan memburu orang terkait penegakan hukum. Fokus penyadapan ditujukan kepada orang-orang yang berpotensi dugaan tindak pidana, peristiwanya sudah ada. Apabila tidak terkait tindak pidana, maka tidak perlu khawatir.
Anggota Komisi III DPR Fraksi Partai Demokrat, Benny K Harman menyebut penyadapan ini juga menjadi semacam Early Warning System bagi masyarakat agar tidak melakukan korupsi. Meski demikian, Kejaksaan harus punya SOP (Standard Operating Procedure) ketika melakukan penyadapan, agar tidak menciptakan ketakutan.
Direktur Kebijakan Publik Raksha Initiatives, Wahyudi Djafar mengatakan salah satu dampak dari penyadapan adalah chilling effect atau ketakutan di masyarakat. Di sisi lain, penyadapan ini bagi operator juga tidak menguntungkan, sebab bisa mengurangi kepercayaan customer.
