Lindsay Clancy admitted to strangling her three children. The evidence is overwhelming — Apple Watch data tracking her to the basement and back between each child, CCTV and location data putting Patrick at the pharmacy the whole time, and her own confession. None of which has stopped a wave of feminist internet from deciding the real killer is Patrick, the husband who took her to appointments, managed her medication, and testified in her defense.

I go through the most unhinged of them: the woman whose husband moved to the bunk room after she tried to convince him Patrick did it, the "I want it to be the man because I'm on team woman" confession, the therapist-approved theory that "women typically don't strangle," and the crowd merging two separate issues — cheerleading a child killer and "women's mental health" — as if criticising one means you hate the other. Plus a genuine palette cleanser: the internet women actually talking sense about how this circus sets women back a hundred years.

Whatever the verdict, this was a moment a good portion of women lost their minds. It can't be forgotten.
