Blank Slate: A Bare City Condo Gets A Designer Facelift
When designer Jodie Rosen first saw her client’s condo in Midtown Toronto, it felt like a blank slate. “It was lacking interest,” says Jodie of the condo, whose stark white finishes left it feeling impersonal. Through thoughtful design updates, Jodie transformed the space into a warm and inviting home that feels entirely new. Re-staining the floors from a dark finish to a light blond tone softened the overall look, while a new natural stone mantel gave the existing fireplace a striking focal point. In the long galley kitchen, a mix of open and closed shelving, paired with a built-in coffee bar, helped break up the linear layout and create a more custom feel. Inspired by the homeowner’s desire for “a warmer, earthier, rich-toned vibe,” Jodie turned the once-bare condo into a warm and inviting city retreat.Design By Rosen + Co
