Setia Budi Tarigan, ayah dari Christiano Tarigan—tersangka kecelakaan maut yang menewaskan mahasiswa Fakultas Hukum UGM—menyampaikan permintaan maaf dan klarifikasi melalui kanal YouTube-nya, Setia Budi Tarigan Official, pada Minggu (1/6/2025).Setia Budi menyatakan bahwa anaknya tidak melarikan diri dan sudah ditangani aparat kepolisian sejak kejadian. “Putra saya, Christiano, justru berteriak meminta pertolongan warga untuk menolong korban, Ananda Argo,” ujarnya.
Ia juga membantah kabar bahwa pihak keluarga memberikan uang kepada keluarga korban. Selain itu, menurutnya, hasil tes urin menunjukkan Christiano tidak berada di bawah pengaruh alkohol, obat-obatan, maupun narkotika saat kejadian.
Kecelakaan terjadi pada Sabtu (24/5/2025) dini hari di Jalan Palagan Tentara Pelajar, Sleman. Korban, Argo Ericko Achfandi, sedang mengendarai motor ketika ditabrak oleh mobil BMW yang dikemudikan Christiano.
Mengutip Antara (2/6/2025), Christiano ditetapkan sebagai tersangka dan dijerat Pasal 310 ayat (4) UU No. 22 Tahun 2009 tentang Lalu Lintas dan Angkutan Jalan, terkait kecelakaan yang mengakibatkan korban meninggal dunia.
