Auditor General SLAMS Carney government over student visa fraud (w/ Brian Lilley)
On today’s episode of the Candice Malcolm Show, Candice highlights the new Auditor General report exposing unbelievable fraud in our immigration and student visa system. The report found that 153,000 cases were flagged for fraud, but that the government didn’t have the resources or capacity to investigate these cases. Instead, 98.6% of fraudsters were not investigated and instead were simply allowed to stay in Canada.Candice welcomes political journalist Brian Lilley, who discusses his interactions with immigration minister Lena Diab who he calls the worst cabinet minister he’s encountered in his 25 year journalism career.
Candice and Brian discuss the massive changes to the immigration system brought in by the Trudeau government in 2022, led by former immigration ministers Marc Miller and Sean Fraser – both of whom have been promoted to more senior ministries under the Carney government.
They discuss the terrible economic data that shows Canada’s economy lost 84,000 in February and youth unemployment sky-rocketed to 14%. A federal memo unearthed by Blacklock's Reporter found a direct tie between youth unemployment and Canada’s temporary foreign worker programs – despite years of Liberal politicians insisting the opposite.
Finally, Candice and Brain discuss the national security threats posed by bad actors taking advantage of our generosity, as exposed by investigative reporter Sam Cooper who detailed the connection between Canada’s student visa program and international crime syndicates responsible for Canada’s extortion crisis.
