JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV - Ledakan amunisi di Garut, Jawa Barat, menewaskan 13 orang, yaitu 4 anggota TNI dan 9 warga sipil.Ledakan bermula dari pemusnahan amunisi yang sudah tak layak pakai pada Senin pagi di Desa Sagara, Kecamatan Cibalong, Garut, Jawa Barat.

Angkatan Darat melakukan penyusunan detonator di salah satu lubang.
Kadispenad menjelaskan tim telah mengecek prosedur dan lokasi tempat peledakan amunisi.
Dari pengecekan, semua telah dinyatakan aman. Tim penyusun amunisi dari TNI Angkatan Darat melakukan persiapan pemusnahan di dalam dua lubang sumur yang disiapkan.
Tim penyusun amunisi ke pos masing-masing untuk melaksanakan pengamanan.
Peledakan amunisi tak layak pakai di dua lubang sumur berhasil dilakukan.
Terdapat satu lubang sumur lain yang peruntukannya untuk menghancurkan sisa detonator. Saat tim penyusun amunisi menyusun detonator di dalam lubang ketiga, tiba-tiba terjadi ledakan dari dalam lubang yang mengakibatkan 13 orang meninggal dunia.
Saat ini investigasi sedang dilakukan untuk mengungkap penyebab pasti insiden tersebut.
Pengamat militer Anton Aliabbas menyebut TNI harus meninjau ulang standar operasional prosedur pemusnahan amunisi tak layak pakai, termasuk mengapa warga sipil bisa masuk ke lokasi.
Tim investigasi harus mengusut tuntas penyebab insiden ini. Jangan sampai ada lagi korban saat pemusnahan amunisi kedaluwarsa.
