Come si supera un ostacolo? A volte, voltandogli le spalle. Nel 1968 Dick Fosbury rivoluzionò il salto in alto affrontando l'asticella al contrario, e trasformò un limite in un gesto poetico e radicale. Da qui il nome — e il metodo — raccontato da Giacomo Ardesio. In un'Italia dove è già stato costruito quasi tutto, il compito dell'architetto non è aggiungere altri edifici, ma guardare l'esistente con occhi nuovi: gli spazi dimenticati e le opere pubbliche mai terminate diventano risorsa e occasione progettuale. Dall'intervento sull'incompiuta di Ripa Teatina alla campagna europea HouseEurope!, la direzione è una: costruire meno, trasformare meglio. Ripensare ciò che già c'è non è una rinuncia alla visione. È un atto radicale, che accetta il limite come condizione creativa. Fosbury Architecture (FA) è un collettivo milanese fondato nel 2013 da Giacomo Ardesio, Alessandro Bonizzoni, Nicola Campri, Veronica Caprino e Claudia Mainardi. FA lavora all'incrocio tra architettura, curatela e riuso adattivo, mediando tra esigenze collettive, sostenibilità e pragmatismo.Il collettivo ha curato il Padiglione Italia alla 18ª Biennale di Architettura di Venezia e ha partecipato a eventi internazionali a Lisbona, Versailles, Chicago e Venezia. Collabora con istituzioni come La Triennale di Milano, il Centro Pecci, Museion e Palazzo Grassi, e con brand tra cui Ferrari, Bottega Veneta e Flos.
FA è referente italiano di HouseEurope!, iniziativa europea che promuove il riuso adattivo come scelta preferibile al nuovo costruito.
