Namun, seluruh tawaran itu ditolak Hasto.
Hal itu diungkap saat menjadi saksi meringankan untuk Hasto pada sidang lanjutan kasus dugaan perkara suap pergantian antara waktu (PAW) DPR periode 2019-2024 dan perintangan penyidikan Harun Masiku, di PN Tipikor Jakarta Pusat, pada Kamis (20/6/2025).
Dalam persidangan hari ini, Cecep mengaku sempat mengetahui Hasto Kristiyanto pada 2014 diberikan penawaran untuk menjadi menteri sekretaris negara (mensesneg) dan kemudian pada 2019 semoat ditawari menjadi menjadi Menteri Komunikasi dan Informatika (menkominfo).
Cecep mengungkap alasan Hasto menolak tawaran itu karena lebih memilih sebagai pengurus partai. Sebab, kehormatannya setingkat dengan pejabat negara.
Selain itu, partai juga berperan penting untuk melahirkan kepala daerah maupun pejabat negara yang hebat.
Cecep juga mengungkap ia mengetahui Hasto sempat mengeluh karena namanya dicatut atau digunakan oleh pihak tak bertanggung jawab untuk menjanjikan jabatan kepada orang lain.
Hanya saja, ia tak mempertanyakan lebih jauh perihal tersebut. Alasannya karena merasa bukan kewenangannya untuk mengetahuinya.
