De GT World Challenge Europe groeit snel in populariteit, ook onder Nederlandse fans. Dat komt mede door de deelname van het team van Max Verstappen, die met Verstappen.com Racing een team inzet in zowel de Sprint Cup als in de Endurance Cup. Verstappen speelt persoonlijk een actieve rol in de begeleiding van het team, dat bestaat uit Thierry Vermeulen, Chris Lulham en Harry King.
De raceklasse doet dit jaar ook Circuit Zandvoort aan. Op 17 en 18 mei strijden de GT3-teams, waaronder het Ziggo Sport Tempesta Racing Team en Verstappen.com Racing, op Nederlandse bodem. Voor veel autosportliefhebbers is dit hΓ©t moment om de GT World Challenge van dichtbij te beleven.
